How to find your bangle size: measure your wrist correctly

A bangle should feel elegant, comfortable and secure without sliding around excessively as you move. With rigid or slightly oval bangles, the right size matters just as much as the design.

Measure your wrist where you plan to wear the bangle, using a flexible measuring tape that sits close to the skin without squeezing. For a rigid bangle, also compare the inside dimensions with a bangle you already own and like the fit of. This gives you a more reliable reference than a generic size label alone.

How to measure your wrist in 3 steps

1. Choose the right position

Place the tape exactly where you normally want the bangle to sit. Many people wear a bangle just above the wrist bone. Use the same position whenever you compare measurements.

2. Measure close to the skin

The tape should touch your skin without digging in. If it is too loose, the measurement will be larger than your actual wrist. If it is too tight, the bangle may feel uncomfortable later.

3. Check the bangle's inside dimensions

With a rigid bangle, the inside dimensions are especially important. A slightly oval bangle also sits differently from a perfectly round one. If you own a bangle that already fits well, measure its inner width and compare it with the product specifications.

Why wrist circumference and bangle diameter are not the same

A common mistake is to compare wrist circumference directly with a bangle's diameter. They describe different measurements: circumference is the distance around your wrist, while the inside dimension describes the space within the bangle. Shape, material thickness and clasp construction also influence the fit.

A bangle with a hinge or clip-in clasp opens at the wrist, so it does not need to pass over the hand. Its fit is therefore assessed differently from a fully closed bangle.

How to tell whether the size fits

• The bangle does not press tightly into the skin.
• It can move slightly without constantly sliding far up the forearm.
• It does not slip over the hand when your arm is lowered.
• The clasp closes without force.
